Dear Me #4 — Oh, Maggie May

oh, maggie may

Reflection(s)

Oh Maggie May,
Youth is wasted on the young.
You seem to have all the answers!
How I envy your false sense of confidence and righteousness.
Or should I say pity it?
Don’t forget my darling, history has a habit of repeating itself.
Can you now see how quickly times goes by?
How long are you married, what 24 years?
And all in the blink of an eye and the beat of a heart.
I never could follow through with the “Remember what peace there may be in silence.”
You should try not to judge!
What is it they say? “The road to hell is paved with good intentions!”
Don’t be so hard on yourself (or on me!!)
Try to let go and forgive.
You think you’re so different to your old mum.
Have you looked in the mirror recently?
Tell me, who is that old woman staring back at you?
