For October’s General Meeting we will meet at the Märkische Museum in Berlin-Mitte where we will have the chance to meet with one of the curators who will give us a tour of the building and parts of the exhibit. The Märkische Museum presents artefacts related to the culture and history of the city in a striking structure on the bank of the Spree River. The permanent exhibition, “Here is Berlin!”, lets you stroll through the streets and districts of Berlin. This journey allows visitors to experience how Berlin has changed over the course of several centuries. One of the current exhibits is “Berlin 1937: In the Shadow of Tomorrow,” a year when the NS dictatorship had firmly established its rule.
We will start the meeting in one of the museum’s meeting rooms and then Dr. Nele Güntheroth will take us through the building and show us selected objects from the museum’s collection.
There is a reduced 4 Euro fee for admission and a 5 Euro fee for the tour.
An Evite invitation for the meeting will go out closer to the event.
