AWC Berlin General Meeting, 25 April 2018 during Fashion Revolution Week
Panel Discussion: Women will save the world with fashion! Why it is time for ethical fashion to lead your personal style revolution!
Today’s fashion is environmentally damaging, non-transparent and exploitative. Since the collapse of Rana Plaza, a garment manufacturing factory in Bangladesh in April 2013, killing 1134 workers, mostly women, fashion industry has been pushed to change. To commemorate 5 years since this tragic event we invite people working in ethical fashion to share their stories, concerns and aspirations about current state and the future of sustainable, ethically produced fashion. Learn what you can do to NOT be a fashion victim and save others and the world from such fate. Meet Berlin based ethical designers and representatives of global NGOs working on making fashion fair, safe and a positive force for those who work in it and those who wear it.
Moderated by Olga Johnston Atonova, AWC club member, fashion activist and an executive member of the Global Sustainable Fashion Week. Our panelists are Julia Muller, designer, brand AnnaMariaAngelika
, Carina Bischof, Fashion Revolution Deutschland, and Helen Gimber of Clean Clothes Campaign.
